(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Women's Basketball Team was defeated by the Missouri Valley Vikings on Saturday night, with a final score of 63-82. The Bobcats are now 1-3 in the Heart of America Conference and 3-5 overall.
The Bobcats started strong early, with
Hailey Ingram leading the charge, scoring seven points in the first quarter.
Kylie Diaz also made her presence felt, contributing two points and grabbing seven rebounds. At the end of the first quarter, the Bobcats trailed narrowly by a score of 13-19. However, in the second quarter,
Tiara Dodd and
Natasha Deal kept the Bobcats in the game, scoring five and four points, but the Bobcats were down 29-40 at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Bobcats struggled to close the gap. Despite
Kylie Diaz scoring six points and
Tiara Dodd adding three, Peru State could not keep pace with the Vikings, who extended their lead. By the end of the third quarter, the Bobcats found themselves in a significant hole, trailing 41-66. In the fourth quarter, the Bobcats mounted a push, with Ingram scoring nine points and Diaz adding seven points and three rebounds. However, the Vikings held firm, and Peru State's rally fell short, falling 63-82.
Hailey Ingram led the Bobcats with 20 points, five assists, four steals and four rebounds.
Kylie Diaz had 18 points, 10 rebounds, seven blocks and two assists against the Vikings.
Natasha Deal had 10 points and our rebounds with
Tiara Dodd having eight points and four rebounds.
