(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Women's Basketball Team won their first conference game of the season Saturday afternoon against the Culver-Stockton Wildcats, 80-75. The Bobcats are now 1-1 in the Heart of America Conference and 3-3 overall.
The Bobcats held a narrow 21-20 lead after the first quarter, thanks to eight points from
Savannah Bingham and strong play from
Kylie Diaz, who added three assists and two rebounds.
Culver-Stockton took a slight lead at halftime, 38-36, with Diaz contributing seven points, five rebounds, and two steals. The Bobcats responded in the third quarter, with Diaz scoring 16 points to help them regain the lead at 61-56.
In the fourth quarter,
Hailey Ingram stepped up with 11 points, helping Peru State maintain their advantage and secure the win. Diaz finished with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Ingram's clutch performance was key in the final frame.
Kylie Diaz led the Bobcats with 26 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block.
Hailey Ingram had 23 points, five steals and four rebounds against the Wildcats.
Natasha Deal had nine points and three rebounds with
Savannah Bingham having eight points, four rebounds and four steals.
Taydem Miller also had eight points and two steals.
