(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Men's Basketball team defeated the Culver-Stockton Wildcats, 85-73, at home on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats are now 2-0 in conference play and 6-0 overall.
After a slow start that saw the teams tied at 36-36 at halftime,
Ty Griggs led the team with nine points in the first half, while
Carlos Hines contributed four rebounds.
The Bobcats came alive in the second half.
Lamar Lovelace stepped up with 14 points, and
Devin Tomlinson grabbed four key rebounds to help the Bobcats regain the lead. Strong performances from Griggs, Hines, Lovelace, and Tomlinson allowed Peru State to close out the game and secure the 83-75 win.
Lamar Lovelace had 22 points and three rebounds with
Ty Griggs adding 15 points for the Bobcats.
Donzell Johnson had 10 points with
Stephen Coleman Jr. having eight points and two rebounds. Carlos Hine had eight points, seven rebounds and three assists with
Chris Peoples having three rebounds against the Wildcats.
