(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Football team won their final game of the season on Saturday in Davenport, Iowa. The Bobcats defeated the St. Ambrose Bees, 21-14. The Bobcats completed their season 5-2 in the North Division of the Heart of America Conference and 7-3 overall.

After a slow start, the Bobcats were down 14-2 at halftime, with a team safety being their only score in the first half. However, they responded in the second half, with quarterback
Colin Shields connecting with
Daylan Jones on a 40-yard touchdown pass, bringing the score to 14-9. As the third quarter ended,
Gus Bashore kicked a 21-yard field goal to narrow the deficit to 14-12.

In the fourth quarter, the Bobcats took their first lead of the game when Shields threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to
Kaleb Herbel, making it 18-14. Bashore added a 32-yard field goal to extend the lead to 21-14, and the Bobcats' defense held firm to secure the victory. Shields' key passing and Bashore's clutch kicks were pivotal in the comeback, while the defense shut down the Bees in the second half.

Colin Shields had 17 completions for 186 yards resulting in two touchdowns.Â
Daylan Jones had five receptions for 97 yards resulting in one touchdown.Â
Gio Contreras had four receptions for 61yards with

Duke McClinton added seven total tackles with four solos, one tackle for a loss of two yards and one interception for 46 yards.
