Bobcats Battle Hard but Fall to Grand View

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Bobcats played the Grand View Vikings at home on Tuesday, October 9th for the Pink Out game. The Bobcats fell short, losing 3-1. The team is now 8-14 overall and 3-6 in the Heart of America Conference.
 
The first set was a tight game for the Bobcats and Vikings as the teams went back and forth throughout the set. Kalyssa Fox had seven kills for the Bobcats with Eden Moore and Raevyn Russel having three kills with Russel having five digs as the teams battled through the set, finding themselves tied at 25-25. The Bobcats pulled out with the extra points win 30-28. The Bobcats started the second set strong but unable to maintain their momentum. Despite the efforts of three kills from Russel, Moore and Kalolaine Pasikala, the Vikings took the set 25-16.
 
The Bobcats showed resilience in the fourth set as the set went point for point. Raevyn Russel and Eden Moore had five kills with Shealie Wiebers having six digs as the Bobcats battled to win the set. Even with their efforts, the Vikings won the third set, 25-22. In the fourth set, the Bobcats fought hard but couldn't keep up their momentum. Kalolaine Pasikala had five kills with Russel and Sami Chesley having four digs. The Vikings took the final set, 25-16.
 
Raevyn Russel led the Bobcats with 13 kills, 10 digs and two assisted blocks. Eden Moore also had 13 kills adding five digs and three assisted blocks. Kalolaine Pasikala had 12 kills, 11 digs, three service aces and two assisted blocks. Kalyssa Fox added 10 kills and two blocks in the Match.
 
Allie Schnider had 21 assists and six digs with Sami Chesley having 20 assists, four digs and three service aces. Emily Sherman had 11 digs with Shealie Wiebers adding eight for the Bobcats.
 
Next: The Bobcats will be back in the AWAC on Friday, October 11th to take on MidAmerica Nazarene at 6:00pm. They will then be back on Saturday, October 12th for Senior Day against Baker. Varsity reserve will start at 11:00am and varsity will start at 1:00pm.
