Volleyball Reverse Sweeps MidAmerica Nazarene

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Volleyball team defeated the MidAmerica Nazarene Pioneers in an exciting match after falling in the first two sets on Friday Night. The Bobcats are now 4-6 in the Heart of America Conference and 9-14 overall.  

In the first set, the Bobcats struggled to find their rhythm falling 6-25 in the set. The Bobcats bounced back in the second set, taking an early lead. The teams went back and fourth with Raevyn Russel having six kills and three digs an Eden Moore adding three kills. The teams were tied at 26-26 but the Pioneers took the second set 28-26. The Pioneers led 2-0 going into the third set.  

The Bobcats didn't give up in the third set as they stopped the pioneers early taking a 21-14 lead.  Eden Moore had four kills with Erison Vonderschmidt having three kills as the Bobcats hold their lead and win the third set 25-22. In the fourth set, the Bobcats start slow finding themselves in a six point deficit. The Bobcats dug deep to close the gap with big kills as they tied the game at 18-18 before stopping the Pioneers to take the fourth set 25-23. The Bobcats didn't let up in the fifth set taking a lead and not letting the Pioneers close it as they rolled through the set with the help of four Kills from Raevyn Russel as the Bobcats take the set after a final ace from Sami Chesley 15-11.  

Raevyn Russel led the Bobcats with 16 kills, 22 digs, three assisted blocks and two service aces. Eden Moore had 14 kills against the Pioneers, hitting a .351 and having three blocks. Erison Vonderschmidt had eight kills, 23 digs and two assisted blocks. Kennedy Millerr had six kills, four assisted blocks and three service aces with Addison Schnider having six kills and five total blocks. Kalyssa Fox added five kills for the Bobcats.  

Allie Schneider had 24 assists and 11 digs with Sami Chesley having 20 digs, seven digs and two aces. Shealie Wiebers had five digs for the Bobcats in their reverse sweep.
