(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Women's Basketball Team won their first game of the season in Omaha, Nebraska against the College of Saint Mary Flames, 80-51. The Bobcats are now 1-0 on the season.
The Bobcats started hot in the first quarter. The Bobcats had 18 rebounds, three steals and three blocks as they led 19-7 going into the second quarter.
Kylie Diaz scored nine points for the Bobcats in the second quarter as the team extended their lead over the Flames. With six steals in the quarter, the Bobcats lead 38-19 at halftime.
Going into the second half, the Bobcats didn't let up.
MaKinley Tobey had 12 points in the third quarter for the Bobcats. The team hold a 34 point lead going into the fourth quarter. The team holds onto their lead and take home their first win of the season 80-51.
MaKinley Tobey led the Bobcats with 20 points, nine rebounds, four assists and one block and steal.
Kylie Diaz had 15 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks, and three assists for the Bobcats.
Natasha Deal had 14 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Savannah Bingham had 10 points and seven rebounds against the Flames.
