Football Wins Big in Fulton

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Football Team defeated the William Woods Owls in a non-conference matchup on Saturday, 50-7. The Bobcats are now 5-2 overall.
 
The Bobcats had 388 rushing yards and 185 passing yards against the Owls. The team only let the Owls have 191 total offensive yards in the game.
 
The Bobcats struck early in the first quarter with Colin Shields pass complete to Jordan Kempf for 71 yards to score the Bobcats first touchdown of the game. The Bobcats led 7-0 after the first quarter.
 
Within the first minute of the second quarter, the Bobcats score their second touchdown of the game after a three yard rush by Grant Gutschow. On the Bobcats next possession, Chandler Cotton had a four yard rush to score the Bobcats second touchdown of the quarter. Marcus Remillard made a field goal for the Bobcats for their final score of the half putting the Bobcats up 24-0 at halftime.
 
In the third quarter, Grant Gutschow had an 8-yard rush to score a touchdown for the Bobcats, putting them up 31-0. With two minutes left in the third quarter, Jermaine House had a 26-yard rush for the Owls to score another Bobcat touchdown. The Bobcats led 37-0 going into the fourth quarter.
 
In the final quarter of the game, MJ Nelson had a complete pass to Jermaine House for 12 yards to score the first touchdown of the quarter. House then had another touchdown for the Bobcats during their next possession with a 61 yard rush. On the Owls final possession of the game they score a touchdown, making the final score 50-7.
 
Colin Shields had 10 completions for 161 yards resulting in one touchdown with the longest being 71 yards in the matchup.  MJ Nelson had 3 completions for a total 24 yards and one touchdown.
 
Chandler Cotton had a total gain of 99 rushing yards and the longest being 33 yards and scoring one touchdown for the Bobcats. Grant Gutschow had a total gain of 101 rushing yards with the longest being 36 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Jermaine House added 88 yards and two touchdowns with the longest rush being 61 yards.
 
The Bobcats had a total 185 receiving yards during the game with Jordan Kempf having 71 yards, the longest being 71 yards also scoring one touchdown. Kaleb Herbel added 27 total yards with Gio Contreras adding 27 yards against the Owls.
 
Ja-Quez Oliver had five total tackles with three solo tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. Caleb Jackson had four total tackles with 3 solo tackles. Timothy Marshal, Kemper Reed and Gavin Dunkel had three total tackles with two solo tackles. Jaylen Jean-Louis, Isaiah Murrell and Alex Dzingle had three solo tackles.
 
Next: The Bobcats will be back home on Saturday, November 2nd to take on the Culver-Stockton Wildcats at 1:00pm.
