Volleyball Falls to Mount Mercy on the Road

(Cedar Rapids, Iowa)- The Peru State Bobcats played the Mount Mercy Mustangs on in a conference matchup on Saturday. The Bobcats fell short, losing 3-1. The team is now 10-16 overall and 5-8 in the Heart of America Conference.
 
The first set was a tight game for the Bobcats and Vikings as the teams went back and forth throughout the set. Addison Schneider and Kennedy Miller had three kills for the Bobcats as the teams battled through the set, finding themselves tied at 25-25. The Mustangs managed to pull out with the extra points win 28-26. The Bobcats started the second set strong but struggled to close the slow gap that the Mustangs were making. Despite the efforts of four kills from Eden Moore and three from Kalyssa Fox, the Mustangs took the second set 25-16.
 
The Bobcats showed resilience in the third set as the set went point for point. Raevyn Russel and Kalyssa Fox had three kills as the Bobcats battled to win the set. The Bobcats won the battle to win the set as they took set three, 28-26. In the fourth set, the Bobcats fought hard to keep up their momentum. Raevyn Russel had five kills with Erison Vonderschmidt having three. The Vikings took the final set, 25-23.
 
Raevyn Russel led the Bobcats with 13 Kills and 10 digs also having three assisted blocks. Erison Vonderschmidt had 10 kills, 11 digs and one ace against the Mustangs. Kalyssa Fox had 10 kills and two assisted blocks for the Bobcats. Eden Moore had eight kills, four digs and two blocks. Addison Schneider had six kills, eight digs and four blocks with Kennedy Miller having five kills and four blocks.
 
Allie Schnider had 21 assists and 11 digs with Samantha Chesley having 19 assists and four digs. Shealie Wiebers added nine digs for the Bobcats.
