Volleyball Picks Up Road Win in Lamoni

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Volleyball team won their thrilling 3-1 matchup with Graceland University on Tuesday, October 1st.  The Bobcats are now 7-11 overall and 3-4 in the Heart of America Conference.

The Bobcats stopped the Yellowjackets early in the first set. With the help of Raevyn Russel, Eden Moore and Kalyssa Fox each having two kills, Moore and Kennedy Miller having two blocks and two service aces from Sami Chesley, the Bobcats took a big lead. The team won the set 25-17. The Bobcats struggled in the second set as the Yellowjackets took a quick lead and won the set 25-16.
 
The Bobcats came out strong in the third set, but the Yellowjackets managed to take a 10-5 lead. The Bobcats quickly closed the gap and battled to win the set. Raevyn Russel had five kills and Kennedy Miller had four blocks with Eden Moore adding three blocks as the Bobcats took the third set 25-23. In the fourth set, the Bobcats and Yellowjackets battled but the Bobcats found a way to take a 20-14 lead. The Yellowjackets battled back to tie the game at 24-24. Kills from Kalolaine Pasikala and Raevyn Russel finish the set as the Bobcats win 26-24. Raevyn Russel had four kills for the Bobcats in the final set with Eden Moore and Addison Schnider adding three kills.
 
Raevyn Russel led the Bobcats with 13 kills, hitting a .400 and having 12 digs in the match. Kennedy Miller had seven kills and eight blocks with Addison Schnider also having seven kills hitting a .375. Eden Moore had six kills and six blocks with Kalyssa Fox adding five kills. Kalolaine Pasikala had four kills and eight digs for the Bobcats.
 
Allie Schnider had 21 assists and five digs against the Yellowjackets. Sami Chesley had 12 assists, 8 digs and three service aces in the match. Ryan White had nine digs with Emily Sherman having five digs and two service aces.
 
Next: The Bobcats are back on the road on Friday, October 4th to take on the Culver-Stockton Wildcats at 6:00pm. They will then travel to Saint Louis to play UHSP on Saturday at 12:00pm.
