Women’s Basketball Falls to Doane in Hard Fought Battle

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Women's Basketball Team fell to the Doane Tigers Wednesday night, 89-95. The Bobcats are now 2-1 overall
 
To start out the game, in the first quarter, the Bobcats shot 67% from both the field goal and 3-point line. Samantha Stewart (Sr., Mount Ayr, IA) and Kaylan Larry (Sr., Little Rock, AR) both had eight points in the first quarter with Natasha Deal adding two rebounds.
 
Hailey Ingram started out the second quarter with a good jump shot. Hailey Ingram (Jr., Omaha, NE) and  Natasha Deal (Jr., Winnebago, NE) had six pints with Kylie Diaz (Fr., Albertville, MN) having four rebounds to finish the half. The score going into half was 48-47.
 
Natasha Deal had seven points followed by Samantha Stewart with three in the third quarter. Kylie Diaz also finished the quarter with four rebounds.
 
In the fourth quarter, the Bobcats fought hard with Kaylan Larry having seven point. Kylie Diaz also had three rebounds and two blocks in the quarter. The tigers were able to take the lead though and won 89-95.
 
Samantha Stewart led the team with 20 points, her second 20 point game of the season. Kaylan Larry had 15 points and two rebounds for the Bobcats. Natasha Deal had 13 points and 5 rebounds, Hailey Ingram had 12 points and six rebounds and Maddy Duncan (Sr., Hamburg, IA) had 12 points and four rebounds. Kylie Diaz had 12 rebounds, nine points and six blocks against the Tigers.
 
Next: The Bobcats (2-1) will be home again in the AWAC, Friday, November 10th, at 5:30 p.m. to take on the Avila Eagles. Go Bobcats!
