Peru State Women’s Basketball Earns Big Win Over Avila

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Women's Basketball Team earns the win over the Avila University Eagle at home on Friday night, 85-65. The Bobcats are now 3-1 overall.
 
The Bobcats started out the game with a made layup by  Natasha Deal (Jr., Winnebago, NE) in the first 15 seconds of the game. Deal had four points during the quarter. Hailey Ingram (Jr., Omaha, NE) had six points and two rebounds with Kaylan Larry (Sr., Little Rock, AR) adding five points for the Bobcats.
 
In the second quarter, the Bobcats were leading the Eagles 21-11. Hailey Ingram had another big quarter with six points and added three rebounds. Samantha Stewart (Sr., Mount Ayr, IA) came out hot with five points and five rebounds. The Bobcats lead going into half 42-16.
 
Starting out the second half, the Bobcats showed the Eagles no mercy having a 67% shooting percentage in the third quarter. Kaylan Larry had 10 points and Hailey Ingram continued her leading each quarter with eight points. Josiee Sobotka (Jr., Tobia, NE) also had four points and two rebounds for the Bobcats.
 
To finish out the game, the Bobcats didn't let up.  Kaylan Larry had six points and four rebounds.  Kylie Diaz (Fr., Albertville, MN) joined in with five points and two rebounds in the Bobcats win with a final score of 85-65.
 
Our top stats for tonight's game were, Kaylan Larry led the team with 21 points and five rebounds only missing four shots during the game. Hailey Ingram was close behind Larry with 20 points and added seven rebounds for the Bobcats. Samantha Stewart had 11 points and eight rebounds, Natasha Deal earned nine points and four rebounds. Maddy Duncan (Sr., Hamburg, IA) collected eight points and four rebounds in their win over the Eagles. Josiee Sabotka added six points and six rebounds, finishing with Kylie Diaz having seven points and three rebounds for the Bobcats.
 
Next: The Bobcat Women's Basketball team travels to Parkville, Missouri for the first conference game of the season to take on Park University. Tipoff is set for 5:30 PM.
