Women’s Basketball Defeats College of Saint Mary on Saturday Night

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Women's Basketball Team won their second game of the season at home against the College of Saint Mary Fames on Saturday night, 84-46. The Bobcats are now 2-0 on the season for the first time since the 2017-18 Women's basketball season.
 
The Bobcats started off the first quarter with a big 3 pointer by Maddy Duncan (Sr., Hamburg, IA). They ended the first quarter up with a score of 21-7.
 
In the second quarter, Samantha Stewart (Sr., Mount Ayr, IA) had 8 points followed by Hailey Ingram having 7 points along with 7 assists. The Bobcats wend into half with a score of 41-18.
 
Kaylan Larry had 9 points with 2 rebound as the Bobcats take the third quarter. Natasha Deal (Jr., Winnebago, NE) had 5 points for the Bobcats. The Bobcats led 66-29 going into the fourth quarter.
 
Natasha Deal had a good 3 pointer to start out followed by a layup Kylie Diaz (Fr., Albertville, MN) in the final quarter of the game. The Bobcats won with a final score of 84-46.
 
Kaylan Larry had 20 points and four rebounds in their win over the Flames. Hailey Ingram had 17 points, six assists and five steals for the Bobcats. Samantha Stewart also had 10 points, 7 rebounds and five steals during the game. Natasha Deal also had 10 points for the Bobcats. Olivia Williams had six points, five steals and four rebounds in the win over the flames.
 
Next: The Bobcats (2-0) will be home again in the AWAC, Wednesday, November 8th, at 5:30 p.m. to take on the Doane University Tigers. Go Bobcats!
