Men’s Basketball Defeats Bethel College on the Road

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Men's Basketball team defeated the Bethel College Threshers 88-73 in North Newton, Kansas on Friday evening. The Bobcats are now 3-0 overall, for the first time since the 2018-19 season.
 
The Bobcats had a slow start in the first half but the Threshers couldn't hold back the Bobcats. AJ Richard (Jr., Pearland, TX) had nine points and five rebounds with David Wingett Jr. (Sr., Winnebago, NE) being close behind with nine points and two rebounds. Ajantae Hogan (Jr., Lincoln, NE) had seven points and  Sayvon Traylor (Sr., Atlanta, GA) had six points with both having three rebounds to complete the first half. The Bobcats led 40-33 at the half.
 
Skyler Wilson (Jr., Omaha, NE) had a layup to start out the second half. The Threshers couldn't seem to mend it together to finish out the game as the Bobcats separated the threshers from a win. Sayvon Traylor led the way ending the second half with 12 points, four rebounds and a steal. David Wingett Jr., added 10 points for the Bobcats with four rebounds. DeAndre Johns (Jr., Kenosha, WI) had nine points with three rebounds to finish out the second half for the Bobcats with the win of 88-73.
 
David Wingett Jr., led the Bobcats with 19 points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocks with Sayvon Traylor being close behind with 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists. In their win over the Threshers, Ajantae Hogan had 14 points and added four rebounds. DeAndre Johns also had 13 points and four rebounds for the Bobcats in their win.
 
Next: The Bobcat Men's Basketball team travels to Parkville, Missouri for the first conference game of the season to take on Park University. Tipoff is set for 7:30 PM.
