(Peru, Neb.) – They were supposed to play two, but Mother Nature had other plans Saturday afternoon.
Â
In the only game played at the Centennial Complex Field, the Peru State softball team defeated the visiting Clarke (Iowa) Pride 6-5 in a come-from-behind fashion.
Â
With the win, Peru State improved to 9-9 overall and went to 3-0 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) North Division. The nine wins match the total wins the Bobcats have had over the past two seasons – obviously the 2020 season was cut short due to the coronavirus.
Â
Clarke fell to 5-8 on the year and 1-2 in the Heart North.
Â
The cancelled game will be made up as part of a triple header when the two teams meet in Dubuque on April 24.
