(Peru, Neb.) – A big second half on the road propelled the Bobcats to a much-needed conference road win in Des Moines, Iowa, Wednesday night. The 'Cats outscored the Vikings 50-38 in the final 20 minutes.
The Bobcats improved to 9-6 overall and 5-5 in the Heart of America Conference (Heart) North with a 89-74 win. Grand View fell to 8-4 overall and 5-4 in the Heart North.

Henry Tanksley
Skyler Wilson (Omaha) made a field off an assist from
Henry Tanksley (Lincoln) to give the 'Cats a quick 4-0 lead with 18:59 to go in the first half.
After the Vikings hit a three to get on the board, Peru State got three straight points from
Tyrece Griggs (Omaha). Griggs made a field goal and got one of two free throws to go to give the Bobcats a 7-3 lead with 17:34 on the clock.
Amitai Afenjar (Los Angeles) made a three with 13:57 remaining to give Peru State a five-point advantage at 15-10.
The Vikings came back on the 9-6 run to take a two-point lead before Tanksley made a three-pointer off the pass from Afenjar to get the Bobcats a one-point lead at 26-25 with 6:41 in the first half.
A 6-0 run followed for the 'Cats after Griggs made a basket with 4:01 left in the score with a score of 32-25.
Seven straight points for Grand View tied the score until Wilson made a basket to give the Bobcats a two-point lead at 34-32 with 2:41 remaining in the first 20 minutes of play.
Wilson made a three off an assist from Griggs to give the 'Cats another four-point advantage with 1:31 to go before intermission.
Peru State would go into half-time leading by three with a score of 39-36.
Second Half Action

Wilson started the second half by making a bucket in the first minute of the half to give the 'Cats a five-point lead with 19:07 remaining in the game.
A 5-2 run from the Vikings would come to an end after Griggs made a three off an assist from
Carl Brown (Omaha) to keep the lead at five with a score of 46-41.
The 'Cats would open up the game with a 10-0 run in just over five minutes of the game. The run would start with Tanksley converting a one and one. The run would end after
Vinny Barron (Grand Prairie, Texas) would make a two-point field goal with 14:32 remaining in the contest with the score at 58-43.
An 11-3 run for Grand View got the Vikings back in the game. Tanksley made a field goal to stop the Viking comeback. Peru State would still lead 63-54 with 9:08 on the clock.
Scoring would go back and forth for a little bit before the 'Cats would get the lead back up to 13 when Tanksley made a three off the pass from Wilson.
Another 10-0 from the Bobcats with just under three minutes remaining in the game would give the Bobcats a 17-point lead at 81-64.
Wilson hit a bucket off a pass from Tanksley with 1:42 remaining in the game to give the 'Cats a commanding 83-66 lead.
Peru State would maintain their comfortable lead to win the game 89-74.

The Bobcats connected on 32 of 55 field goals for 58.2% including making 10 of 19 for 52.6% from long distance. At the charity stripe, the 'Cats were 15 of 21 for 71.4%. Grand View connected on 26 of 62 field goals for 41.9% including 7 of 24 for 29.2% from long range. At the free throw line, the Vikings were 15 of 20 for 75%.

Peru State grabbed 28 rebounds – five were offensive while Grand View grabbed 33 rebounds – ten were offensive.
Both teams had 11 assists in the game. The Bobcats had 19 turnovers compared to just 14 from the Vikings.
Peru State blocked four shots and had six steals while Grand View just had one block and four steals.
Individual Stats
The Bobcats had three scorers in double figures. Tanksley had a game-high 28 points on 9 of 12 shooting. Wilson added a career-high 24 points. Griggs contributed 16.

Tanksley had four assists and Griggs added three.

Upcoming Games
The 'Cats will be back at home this coming Saturday to take on the Clarke Pride (Iowa) 6-6, 5-4. Tip-off will be at 2 p.m.
Peru State will be on the road January 20 as they travel to Parkville, Mo., to face Park University 8-4, 8-4 at 7:30 p.m.
On January 23 the 'Cats will be home versus Mount Mercy (Iowa) 3-5, 1-3 at 2 p.m. This will also be senior day for two members of the men's basketball team.
