(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State athletic director
Wayne Albury recently announced the March Peru State athletes of the month as
Alyssa Marsh-Contreras (Omaha) and
Henry Tanksley (Lincoln).
Both Marsh-Contreras and Tanksley have been leaders on their respective basketball teams. Most recently, both were named to the NAIA Division I All-American Honorable Mention list.
Alyssa Marsh-
Contreras
A 5-7 sophomore guard, Marsh-Contreras finished the season as the team's leader in points per game (17.11), assists per game (3.11), and steals per contest (1.57).
Marsh-Contreras finished the season in the following NAIA DI Top 50 individual rankings: 25
th in three-point field goals made per game (2.464), 26
th in points per game, 27
th in total scoring (479), and 38
th in total three-point field goals made (69).
Tanksley, a junior 6-4 guard, led the Bobcat men in scoring averaging 17.47 points per contest.

Currently, Tanksley is ranked in two NAIA Individual Top 50 categories: 30
th in points per game (17.917) and 46
th in total scoring (215).
Tanksley completed the season ranked in three NAIA DI Top 50 individual rankings: 20
th in total scoring (559), 33
rd in points per game, and 44
th in three-point field goal percentage (0.413).
"Gaining any level of All-America recognition is quite an accomplishment so it was not a hard selection to identify Alyssa and Henry as Peru State's athletes of the month for March," noted AD Albury.
