(Peru, Neb.) – After playing two tight contests on Saturday in Batesville, Arkansas, the Peru State softball team went scoreless on Sunday while losing another pair of games.

On Saturday, the Bobcats fell to the hosts, Lyon, 3-1 and then dropped a 3-2 contest to Bethany (Kan.). On Sunday, the 'Cats fell 8-0 to Bethany and 9-0 to Lyon in five innings.

Peru State fell to 0-4 on the season. Lyon improved to 6-1 while Bethany finished the weekend with a 4-5 mark.

The Scots scored one run in the third, fourth, and sixth innings to take a 3-0 lead. In the bottom of the seventh, the Bobcats got on the board.

(Syracuse) singled to right. Alaina Lacy
(Lincoln) came in to run for Beckmann. After a strike out,
Jordynn Jimenez (Delano, Calif.) reached first on a fielder's choice with Lacy safe at second on an error. Lacy would advance on to third on the same error.
Alyiah Franco (Syracuse, Utah) singled to third to drive in Lacy. That would be all Peru State could muster in the inning as they lost 3-1.

Lyon scored their three runs on six hits and committed one error. The 'Cats scored their lone run on six hits and committed two errors.

Carlye Rothschild (Eros, La.), Tyler Farrell (Brandon, Fla.), Beckmann,
Morgan Wilke (Bakersfield, Calif.), Jimenez, and Franco each had one hit with Franco being credited with the RBI.

Alana Krieser (Lincoln) threw a complete seven innings and was tagged for the loss. Krieser allowed six hits, three runs – two earned, and struck out two.

Bethany struck first with a run in the top of the third.

In the bottom of the third, the Bobcats would take the lead.
Madison Rider (Longville, La.) singled to the pitcher's mound. On a wild pitch, Rider advanced to second. On the second strikeout,
Takia Walker (Enterprise, Ala.) was able to reach on a wild pitch with Rider moving to third. Rider would later score with Walker getting a stolen base. Walker would move to third on another wild pitch and later would score on an additional wild pitch. The Bobcats would lead 2-1 until the top of the sixth when the Swedes plated two to go up 3-2 – the eventual final score.

Peru State would have opportunities to score in both the bottom of the sixth and seventh, but could not push any runs across.

Cheyenne Leach (Wymore) threw the first 5.1 innings for Peru State. Leach allowed five hits, three earned runs, and dropped the decision. She struck out two. Krieser came in to relieve Leach and tossed 1.2 innings allowing two hits and striking out one.

Bethany would score three in the second, four in the fourth, and one more in the sixth for the 8-0 win.

The Swedes scored their eight runs on 12 hits and had one error. Peru State had four hits and one miscue.
