Peru State Junior Varsity Women’s Basketball 20-21 Preview

(Peru, Neb.) – This will be the second season that the junior varsity program will be playing women's basketball at Peru State. In their first season, the Bobcats went 6-11 and are looking on improving on that record this season.
 
The JV women will look to start 1-0 Friday night, Oct. 23, as they take on Concordia University inside the Al Wheeler Activity Center (AWAC) at 7 p.m. The game will be available through Stretch: https://portal.stretchinternet.com/perust/ 
 
The 'Cats first away game will be on Nov. 1 when they travel to Crete, Neb., to take on Doane University. Tipoff will be at 4 p.m.

Returners
 
The Bobcats will return four players from the last inaugural season that produced 6 wins. Sophomores 5-4 guard Adreal Bell (Independence, Mo.), 5-5 guard Nytasia Braxton (Camden, N.J.), and 5-5 guard Jaya Todd (Omaha).
 
Jescenia Mosely (Shenandoah, Iowa) was with the program last year while using a redshirt season last year. Mosely is a 5-6 junior guard.
 
Newcomers 
 
The coaching staff for the women brought in four players for the recruiting class to improve the junior varsity program. All are freshmen in terms of eligibility. They include 6-1 forward Mariah Markus (Loup City), 5-8 guard/forward Jazdia Ascheman (Tecumseh), 5-9 guard/forward Logan Edwards (Johnson), 5-4 guard Krista Menninga (Pawnee City), and 6-0 forward Abby Wisdom (Holton, Kan.)

This year, only home fans will be allowed into contests for the foreseeable future. This is at the guidance of the Council of Presidents for the Heart.
 
In addition, Peru State has gone to an online ticketing process. To secure a ticket for a home game, please go to: https://pscbobcats.com/sports/2020/8/14/tickets-tailgate.aspx. There is no charge for a junior varsity only contest; however, a ticket will be needed for entry.
