Hexom Earns Second Heart MBB Player of the Week Honor

(Peru, Neb.) – After putting up his tenth and eleventh double-double efforts of the season, Bobcat men's basketball player Lyle Hexom (Omaha) was named as the Heart of America Athletic Conference's (Heart) Player of the Week POW.
 
This is the second Heart POW for Hexom for the 2018-19 season. He earned his first conference recognition on December 31.

Peru State won a pair of games this past week. They topped Grand View (Iowa) at home 73-70 and then went on the road to defeat #24 Central Methodist 110-107 in double overtime.
 
Hexom scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the win over Grand View. He made 7 of 12 field goals including hitting 4 of 9 from long range. In addition, he blocked three shots and had two steals.
 
In the double OT win over the Eagles, Hexom scored 28 points and 15 rebounds. His points came on 12 of 17 shooting from the floor. Also, he blocked four shots, had two steals, and one assist.
 
Presently, Hexom is listed in 11 NAIA top individual rankings. He is second in total blocks (52) and third in blocks per game (2.737). His 10.42 rebounds per contest is fourth. In addition, he is averaging 20.11 points per game which is 12th in the NAIA DI.
