(Peru, Neb.) – The 25
th-ranked Baker Wildcats took the first game of the double header over Peru State in Baldwin City, Kan., on Friday before Mother Nature won game two. A storm rolled through and forced the postponement of the second game with a date to be scheduled later.
The Wildcats topped the Bobcats 10-0 in five innings. Baker improved to 27-7 overall and are now 16-5 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) South Division. Peru State fell to 9-28 overall and are 4-19 in the Heart North.

Baker scored six runs in the bottom of the first and then

added two more in the bottom of the second. In the bottom of the fourth, the Wildcats scored two more runs which eventually allowed the mercy rule to be invoked.

The Wildcats scored their ten runs on 11 hits and did not commit any errors. Peru State managed only one hit in the contest.

Shelbi Audsley (Prescott Valley, Ariz.) had the lone hit for the Bobcats.

Morgan Ritchie (Lincoln) was the losing pitcher only throwing 0.2 innings. Ritchie allowed 5 hits and 6 earned runs.
Taylor Moya (Keenesburg, Colo.) tossed the last 3.1 innings. Moya allowed 6 hits and 4 earned runs.

The Bobcats will be on the road Sunday when they travel to Atchison, Kan., to face Benedictine. This was to be a home game, but the impending weather has forced a change. Game time for the double header will be 2 p.m. The Ravens are 19-13 overall and are 9-11 in the Heart South.

Peru State will then go on the road for a pair of double headers mid-week. On April 18, they will face William Penn in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and then will take on Clarke in Dubuque, Iowa, on April 19. The start time both days is 4 p.m. The Statesmen are 11-24 on the year and are 5-14 in the Heart North. The Pride are 10-20 overall and are 8-10 in the Heart North.
