(Peru, Neb.) – The Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) North Division leader Clarke (Iowa) took a double header from Peru State on Saturday in Dubuque, Iowa. The second double header scheduled for Sunday was postponed to April 21 due to unplayable conditions.
The Crusaders took the first game 5-4 in eight innings and then won the second game 7-2.
With the sweep, Clarke improved to 26-5 overall and 12-2 in the Heart. Peru State fell to 17-7 on the season and are now 7-3 in conference action.
Game One Action
Clarke scored one in the bottom of the first and three in the bottom of the third to lead 4-0 before Peru State would get on the board.

In the top of the fourth,
Gianfranco Garlobo (Carolina, Puerto Rico) singled to start the inning. After an out,
Brandon Sedell (Davie, Fla.) walked with Garlobo moving to second.
Scout Villanueva (Bakersfield, Calif.) singled to drive in Garlobo and the 'Cats then trailed 4-1.
After a scoreless fifth, Peru State got back on the board in the top of the sixth. Sedell doubled to start the top half of the frame. After an out,
Darren Hasch (Destin, Fla.) walked. After another out,
Edwin Muniz (Dorado, Puerto Rico) homered to tie the game at 4-4.
The Crusaders would get a home run from the first batter in the bottom of the eighth to get the 5-4 win.
Clarke scored their five runs on seven hits and committed two errors. The Bobcats scored their four runs on nine hits and did not have any errors.
Garlobo went three for four to lead Peru State while Muniz added two hits and led the team with three RBI with Villanueva being credited with the other RBI.
Alberto Rosario (Carolina, Puerto Rico) started the game for the 'Cats and threw three innings. Rosario allowed five hits, four earned runs, and struck out one.
Christian Sanchez (Ponce, Puerto Rico) threw two innings and allowed just one hit and struck out one.
Tyler Wheelock (Omaha) came in and walked one.
Cragin Missak (Bellevue) threw the final two innings and was tagged for the loss. Missak allowed one hit, one earned run, and struck out two.

Game Two Action
The Crusaders would score five runs – two in the second, one in the fourth, and two in the fifth before Peru State would get on the board in the top of the sixth.
The 'Cats had stranded two in both the third and fourth innings before scoring in the sixth.
After an out,
Mark McGinnity (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) reached on an error. Sedell followed with a homer to cut the score to 5-2. The Bobcats would eventually load the bases, but could not add any runs.

The Crusaders scored their seven runs on 12 hits and committed three errors. Peru State scored their two runs on six hits and had one miscue.
Sedell went two for three with two RBI to lead Peru State.
Ben Carr (Omaha) threw 4.1 innings and was tagged for the loss. Carr allowed 8 hits, 5 earned runs, and struck out 4.
Brock Secondine (Navarre, Fla.) threw 0.2 innings and allowed two hits while striking out two.
John Tellini (Pembrook Pines, Fla.) tossed the final inning. Tellini allowed 2 hits, 2 earned runs, and struck out 1.

Upcoming Games
The Bobcats four more away double headers to play before playing at home. On Wednesday, the 'Cats will be in Hillsboro, Kan., to face the Tabor Blue Jays. Tabor is presently 27-8 overall and the non-conference double header will begin at 2 p.m.
Another long road trip will face the 'Cats this coming weekend when they head to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to take on Mount Mercy in a four-game series scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on both April 8 and 9. The Mustangs are presently 12-18 on the year and are 5-10 in the Heart.
