(Oklahoma City, Okla.)- The Peru State College baseball team returned home from a challenging four-game series against Mid-America Christian in Oklahoma City, going 0-4 on the week. Despite strong pitching performances and flashes of offensive potential, the Bobcats were unable to produce timely hits needed to secure a win.
Game 1 – 0–3
The Bobcats battled through five scoreless innings before the hosts broke through with a decisive sixth inning. Peru State managed four hits and left three runners on base, showing aggressiveness on the base paths with a stolen base, but could not capitalize on scoring opportunities. Defensively, the Bobcats played error-free baseball, holding their opponents to just three hits overall.
Game 2 – 1–15
Peru State's offense generated multiple baserunners and extra-base hits, including doubles and a triple, but stranded nine runners as the opposition built a commanding lead. The Bobcats' lone run came late in the game, highlighting their ability to fight back despite being in a large deficit.
Game 3 – 0–3
Right-handed pitching kept the Bobcats within striking distance, including a performance with 10 strikeouts, but timely hitting from the opposition and aggressive baserunning proved the difference. Peru State collected three hits and drew five walks but left eight runners on base.
Game 4 – 2–7
The Bobcats showed resilience in the seventh inning, producing two runs on a pair of extra-base hits and a bases-loaded walk. Despite a strong final frame, Peru State could not overcome a middle-inning surge from their hosts, finishing the game with four hits and several stranded runners.
