(Peru, Neb.) – The pitching of Grand View was tough on the Peru State softball team on Thursday as the Vikings swept a Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) double header in Peru. Grand View won 9-0 and 8-0 – both in five innings.
The Vikings, ranked #20 in the NAIA, improved to 27-9 overall and are 15-5 in the Heart. Peru State fell to 13-26 on the season and 8-16 in conference action.

Grand View scored one in the first, three in the second, one in the third, and four in the fifth for their 9-0 win.

The Vikings scored their nine runs on 11 hits and had no errors. Peru State had three hits in the loss and committed two errors.
Leah Quick (Kansas City, Kan.),
Megan Hartman (Lincoln), and
Chelsea Reznicek (Omaha) each had one hit for the Bobcats.
Hartman started on the mound and was tagged for the loss. She pitched 4.2 innings and allowed 10 hits, 9 runs – 8 earned, and struck out 4.
Taylor Moya (Keenesburg, Colo.) came in to relieve Hartman and threw the final out. Moya allowed 1 hit and struck out 1.

Game Two Action
The Vikings scored four runs in each of the third and fourth innings for their 8-0 win.
Grand View had 11 hits and did not commit any errors. Peru State managed just one hit in the loss.
Quick had a double for the Bobcats' only hit in the game.
Nicole Reznicek (Omaha) threw three innings and was tagged for the loss. Reznicek allowed eight hits, six earned runs, and struck out one.
Morgan Ritchie (Lincoln) threw two innings. Ritchie allowed three hits and two earned runs.

Upcoming Games
Peru State will be traveling to Baldwin City, Kan., on Friday to face Baker in a Heart double header beginning at 4 p.m. The Wildcats are 15-16 overall and are 8-10 in the Heart.
The Bobcats will be back in action at home next Tuesday and Wednesday when they respectively host Graceland (Iowa) and William Penn (Iowa). Both doubleheaders will begin at 2 p.m. The Yellowjackets are 15-15 on the season and are 7-9 in conference play. The Statesmen are 18-19 overall and 6-12 in the Heart.
