(Peru, Neb.) – Bobcat women's cross country head coach
Katy Billings recently announced the signing two recruits for the 2018 season.
Auburn High School seniors Amanda Brown and Caitlyn Longfellow recently signed their letter of intents at the high school.
Both Brown and Longfellow were members of the Bulldog cross country team coached by Mark Oliver and Ashton Bohling. Auburn qualified for the Nebraska State Activities Association State Championships and finished seventh as a team. Brown finished 23
rd at the state meet in a time of 21:27.8 while Longfellow was 82
nd in a time of 24:21.7.

Prior to the state meet, the Bulldogs had won the East Central Nebraska Conference championship and then were the runner-ups in the Class C-1 district.
Brown is the daughter of Jeff and Beth Brown of Auburn and plans to major in K-12 special education and physical education. She previously was the outstanding cross country runner her freshman, sophomore, and junior year and had qualified for the state meet in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Brown was all-conference in 2017.
Longfellow is the daughter of Crystal Longfellow and plans to major in elementary and Pre-K education while at Peru State. In addition to being involved in cross country, last year Longfellow was the runner-up in the Business Ethics competition at the State Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference.
Another Bulldog, Caitlyn Longfellow, also signed to run for the Bobcats in

Coach Billings is still recruiting for her 2018 team. Brown and Longfellow will join five returners for the Peru State team when they begin official practices in the fall.
