First Set Action

The Cougars took at early 2-0 lead before Claire Cudney (Marysville, Kan.) put down a kill from Brooke Rudebusch (Moorpark, Calif.) got the 'Cats on the board. Saint Francis maintained the lead until Peru State tied it at 6-6. A kill by Nadja Janjevic (Podgorica, Montenegro) from Rudebusch put the Bobcats ahead for good. Peru State would have a six-point lead at 16-10 after a Cougar attack error and then would continue to pull away in the first set. A kill by Grose on an assist from Taylor Hogan (Pueblo, Colo.) gave the 'Cats their 25th point.

Second Set Action

Again Saint Francis would go out to a 2-0 lead before an attack error gave the Bobcats their first point of the set. The Cougars would lead in the second set until their 14th point when another Saint Francis error would tie it at 14-14. After a 15-15 tie, Grose would put down a kill from Rudebusch to give Peru State the lead for good in the second set. Kira Shapiro (Omaha) would get a kill off an assist from Grose for the final point of the second set.

After Montana Tech score the first point, back-to-back kills by Cudney and Knowles, both off assists from Grose, Peru State would lead 2-1. The Bobcats would either lead or be tied until the Orediggers would go ahead at 10-9 and later led 13-11. A kill by Shapiro from Grose and then a Montana Tech error would knot the game at 13-13.

Later, after being tied at 17-17, a kill by Knowles and then one from Janjevic – both off assists from Rudebusch, put the 'Cats in the lead 19-17.
