(Peru, Neb.) – The Midland University baseball team snapped the Peru State winning streak at five games as the Warriors took a nine-inning non-conference contest by a score of 6-3.

With the win, the Warriors improved to 21-11-1 while the 'Cats fell to 10-17.

Game ActionÂ
Midland struck first in the top of the second when they scored one run. Then, in the top of the third, the Warriors added four runs which was aided by an error.

That 5-0 lead for Midland held up until the bottom of the eighth inning when Peru State was able to get on the scoreboard.
Caleb Dameron had two hits in the game and scored the first Bobcat run Caleb Dameron (Henderson, Colo.) singled to shallow center. After an out,
Chet Brown (Redlands, Calif.) singled to left-center with Dameron advancing to third.
Kyle Killen (Commerce City, Colo.) came in to run for Brown.
Kadyn Glass (Redlands, Calif.) singled to left with Dameron scoring and Killen moving to second.
Jeremy Mouton (San Jacinto, Calif.) singled to right with Killen scoring and Glass stopping at second.
Mark McGinnity (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) singled to shallow center to load the bases. On a passed by, Glass scored with the runners advancing. Unfortunately, that was all the 'Cats could score as the next two batters flied out and struck out respectively.

The Warriors added one run in the top of the ninth to give them the 6-3 win.
Chaz Dunn played at shortstop for Peru State. Dunn had his first double as a Bobcat.Midland scored their six runs on six hits and committed one error. Peru State scored their three runs on nine hits and had two errors.

Glass and Dameron each had two hits to lead Peru State. Glass and
Chaz Dunn (Falls City) each had one double. Glass and Mouton were each credited with one RBI.

Daniel Muniz (Miami, Fla.) started the game on the mound for the Bobcats and threw the first three innings. Muniz allowed four hits, five runs – four earned, and struck out two while being tagged for the loss.
Matthew Sontag (Davie, Fla.) threw two innings and did not allow a hit.
Jacob Trujillo (Hollister, Calif.) threw three innings and allowed one hit.
Tyler Wheelock (Omaha) tossed the final inning and allowed one hit and one earned run.

The 'Cats will be back in action on Friday and Saturday when they host a pair of double headers with visiting MidAmerica Nazarene University from Olathe, Kan. The 13
th-ranked Pioneers are 21-5 overall and are 6-4 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The games will begin at 1 p.m. each day.

Peru State will then host Doane College in a non-conference double header on Tuesday, April 5, beginning at 2:30 p.m. The Tigers are 13-9 and are scheduled to play six games before heading to Peru.
