(Peru, Neb.) – The Warriors of Midland University were not kind hosts as they took a double header from the Peru State Bobcats Wednesday in baseball action. Midland won game one 6-0 and then took the nightcap 12-6.

With the wins, Midland improved to 13-5-1 on the season while the 'Cats fell to 4-8.

Game One ActionÂ
After two scoreless innings, Midland plated three in the bottom of the third to go up 3-0. The Warriors would add one run in the bottom of the fifth and two in the bottom of the sixth for their 6-0 win.
Caleb DameronÂ
Midland score their six runs on seven hits and committed one error. The Bobcats had five hits and also committed one error.

Caleb Dameron (Henderson, Colo.) led Peru State going 2 for 2 at the plate.

O'Keefe Hall
(Reno, Nevada) was the losing pitcher for the Bobcats. Hall tossed 5 innings and gave up 4 hits, 4 runs – 3 earned, and struck out seven.
Angus Miller (Fontana, Calif.) came in to relieve Hall and threw 1 inning. Miller allowed 3 hits and 2 earned runs.

Game Two ActionÂ
Peru State did get on the board in the top of the first inning in the second game. After the first out,
Mark McGinnity (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) singled and moved to second when
Seth Thomason (Crestview, Fla.) walked.
Jordan Silva (Lynnwood, Fla.) singled to load the bases.
Edwin Rodriguez (Ponce, Puerto Rico) would reach on a fielder's choice with Silva out at second with McGinnity scoring the first run of the game.
Sterling Rupp (Grand Island) would follow with a single and Thomason scored to give Peru State an early 2-0 lead.

The Bobcats' lead was short-lived as Midland scored three in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for what would be for good. The Warriors would add three more in each of the next two innings and after three complete, Midland led 9-2.
Edwin RodriguezÂ
In the top of the fifth, the 'Cats plated more runs.
Kadyn Glass (Redlands, Calif.) walked to start the inning and went to second when McGinnity walked.
Travis Navarro (San Jacinto, Calif.) came in to pinch hit. Both Glass and McGinnity would advance on a wild pitch. Then Navarro walked to load the bases.
Austin Switzer (Tabor, Iowa) came in to pinch hit and would reach on an error while Glass came in to score. On another wild pitch, McGinnity would score the second run of the inning. On a Rodriguez single, Navarro scored. Rupp would reach on a fielder's choice allowing Switzer to score. That would end up being the final scoring for the Bobcats as they trailed 9-6 at that point.

Midland would add one run in the bottom of the inning and then added two more in the bottom of the sixth to make the final score 12-6.

The Warriors scored their 12 runs on 14 hits and committed one error. Peru State scored their six runs on six errors and had four miscues.

McGinnity, Navarro, Silva, Rodriguez, Rupp, and
Chaz Dunn (Falls City) each had singles for the Bobcats in the contest. Rodriguez and Rupp each were credited with two RBI.

Jacob Trujillo (Hollister, Calif.) only last 1.2 innings for the Bobcats and suffered the loss. Trujillo allowed 7 hits, 6 runs – 5 earned, and struck out one.
Ryan Hirschfeld (Brush, Colo.) threw 1.1 innings. Hirschfeld gave up 4 hits and 3 earned runs.
Tyler Wheelock (Omaha) threw 1 inning and allowed 1 run.
Andrew Robinson (Imperial Beach, Calif.) threw 1 inning and allowed 1 run while striking out 2.
Christian Sanchez (Coamo, Puerto Rico) tossed 1 inning allowing 2 hits, 2 earned runs, and struck out 2.

The Bobcats are scheduled to host Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) University Saturday and Sunday in double headers both days. Saturday the games are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. with Sunday's double header starting at noon. The Tigers are presently 6-7 having won their last six games in a row after starting the season with seven losses.
