(Peru, Neb.) – The woes continue for the Bobcat softball team as Peru State lost a pair of double headers this past week to visiting Northwestern College (Iowa) and Missouri Valley College.
With the losses, the Bobcats fall to 7-17 overall and 0-6 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Peru State is in the midst of a ten-game losing streak.
Northwestern Game One (Thursday) The Red Raiders scored in the top of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.

first game However, Peru State came back in the bottom half of the inning to tie the score.
Toni Blackwell (Papillion) singled to start the inning and after the first out, advanced to first on a stolen base.
Halle Holloway (Waco) singled to center to drive in Blackwell to tie the score.
The Red Raiders would score two in the second, one in the third, and two in the fifth to move out to a 6-1 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth,
Leah Quick (Kansas City, Mo.) started the inning with a single to left, but was forced out when Holloway reached on a fielder's choice. After the second out of the inning,
Sydney Webb (Lincoln) singled with Holloway moving second.
Molly Holbrook (Lincoln) singled to deep left to drive in both runners. But, that would be all that Peru State would score in the inning and in the game. Northwestern added three more runs in the top of the sixth and went on for a 9-3 win.
The Red Raiders scored their nine runs on 18 hits and had no errors. Peru State scored their three runs on 13 hits and committed two errors.
Cheyenne Dalrymple (Stockton, Calif.) had three hits while Blackwell, Holloway, and
Brittany McNeese (Gretna) each had two. Holbrook led the team with two RBI while Holloway added one.
Lauren Johnson (Seward) pitched the entire game and was tagged for the loss. Johnson gave up 18 hits, nine earned runs, and struck out one.
NORTHWESTERN GAME ONE GAMEBOOK Northwestern Game Two The second game was much closer. Northwestern scored two runs in the top half of the first and again saw the Bobcats score in the bottom of the inning.
Brittany McNeese had two
hits in the second game
against NorthwesternAfter the first out, McNeese doubled down the right field line. Holloway followed with a double to deep center and McNeese scored. Dalrymple reached on a walk. Both runners advanced on a passed ball. After the second out, Quick reached on a walk to load the bases.
Chelsea Reznicek (Omaha) stepped to the plate and doubled to right to drive in Holloway and Dalrymple with Quick stopping at third. At the end of one inning, the Bobcats led 3-2.
The Red Raiders would regain the lead in the top of the third by scoring two to lead 4-3. In the top of the fourth, Northwestern would add two more to go up 6-3.
In the bottom of the fifth, Peru State would score a couple of runs. McNeese got her second double of the game to start the inning. After a ground out, Dalrymple hit a two-run home run over the center field pitch on the first pitch she saw to close the gap to 6-5. Unfortunately, the Bobcats left two on base in the inning and dropped the contest 6-5.
Northwestern scored their six runs on six hits and had one error. The Bobcats scored their five runs on seven innings and also had one miscue.
McNeese was the only Bobcat with two hits. Dalrymple and Reznicek each were credited with two RBI.
McNeese suffered the loss on the mound as she threw a complete game. McNeese allowed six hits, six earned runs, and struck out one.
NORTHWESTERN GAME TWO GAMEBOOK Missouri Valley Game One (Saturday) It was conference action on Saturday when the Vikings were in Peru.
Neither team scored in the first inning, but the Vikings scored one in the top of the second to take an early 1-0 advantage.
Peru State would get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third.
Brittany Harward (Orem, Utah) singled down the left field line and went to second on a stolen base.
Jenna Gruber (Lincoln) hit a sacrifice bunt to advance Harward to third. Blackwell reached base on a Viking error which allowed Harward to score. At the end of three, it was tied at 1-1.

Valley Missouri Valley would score two in the top of the fourth to regain the lead at 3-1.
In the bottom of the fourth, Dalrymple started in the bottom half of the frame with a single. McNeese reached on a fielder's choice with Dalrymple being forced out at second. On a Holbrook single, McNeese advanced to third. After the second out, Holbrook moved to second, but McNeese stayed at third. Harward singled to shallow right to drive in both base runners and the score was tied 3-3 after four.
After a scoreless fifth, the Vikings got a home run in the top of the sixth to go back on top 4-3.
In the bottom of the sixth, the 'Cats stranded two base runners and could not muster anything in the seventh to lose the game.
Mo Valley scored their four runs on nine hits and had three errors. The Bobcats scored their three runs on six hits and also had three errors.
Harward was the only Bobcat with two hits and also had the team's two RBI.
Nicole Reznicek (Omaha) was on the mound and suffered the loss. Reznicek allowed nine hits and four runs – only one of which was earned.
MISSOURI VALLEY GAME ONE GAMEBOOK Missouri Valley Game Two The Vikings held Peru State to just three hits in the second game and did not allow any runs. Missouri Valley scored three in the top of the first and was never really threatened. The Bobcats did strand two base runners in both the first and sixth inning, but could not score and the game ended after six innings as the mercy rule was applied.

against the VikingsMissouri Valley scored their eight runs on ten hits and did not have an error. The Bobcats managed just three hits and had one error.
Holloway had two of the three hits while
Kayla Guerrero (Omaha) added the other.
Johnson suffered her second loss of the week as she tossed the complete game. Johnson allowed ten hits, eight earned runs, and struck out one.
MISSOURI VALLEY GAME TWO GAMEBOOK Upcoming Games The Bobcats will have another busy week if Mother Nature cooperates. On Tuesday, the 'Cats host a conference double header with Graceland University. Currently, the Yellowjackets are 7-13 overall and 2-2 in conference play. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
On Saturday, Culver-Stockton College will visit for a conference double header beginning at 2 p.m. It will be Senior Day for Bobcat seniors Blackwell, Johnson, and Harward. Presently, the Wildcats are 9-13 and 2-6 in the Heart. They are scheduled to play four games prior to coming to Peru.
Finally, on Sunday, the Bobcats will host their 13
th and 14
th straight home games when the Broncos of Hastings College visit the Centennial Complex Field. The Broncos are 17-11 as of this time and are scheduled to play eight games before heading to Peru State.
