(Peru, Neb.) – What normally, in the past, had been very competitive games did not turn out that way on Wednesday night as Midland University swept a double header from the Bobcat softball team. In each game the run rule was invoked as the Warriors took game one 9-1 in five innings and then won game two 12-0 in five innings as well.
Â
With the pair of wins, Midland went above .500 as the Warriors are now 20-19. Peru State fell to 10-28 with the two losses.

Upcoming GamesÂ
The Bobcats have a pair of Heart of America Athletic Conference double headers coming up on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, Peru State will host Benedictine College beginning at 2 p.m. Currently, the Ravens are sitting in fourth in the conference with an 8-4 mark and are 21-12 overall. This double header will be dependent on Mother Nature as it appears it could rain.
Â
Then, on Saturday, the 'Cats travel to league-leading Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo. The eighth-ranked Eagles have won 24 in a row and are 16-0 in conference play. Overall, Central Methodist is 35-6.
Â
The games are key for Peru State to have any hope of making the post-season tournament. The Bobcats would have to win at least one of the four to match Graceland University and Culver-Stockton College, the two teams Peru State split with earlier in the season. In addition, Graceland and Culver-Stockton would have to lose all of their remaining conference games as well.
