(Peru, Neb.) – Three runs in the top of the seventh inning in the second game helped give the Bobcat softball team a split with former conference rival, the College of St. Mary (CSM) Flames, on Monday. CSM took the opener 6-3 while the Bobcats grabbed the second game 4-3.

Game One Statistics The Flames scored one in the bottom of the first with Peru State tying the game in the top of the second. CSM would add one run in the third and four in the fifth inning to take a 6-1 lead. In the top of sixth, Peru State would score two runs which would be the final scoring of the game as the Flames won 6-3.
CSM scored their six runs on ten hits and did not have any errors. The Bobcats scored their three runs on five hits and had one error.
Cheyenne Dalrymple had a two-run
blast in the first game Five Bobcats each had one hit –
Halle Holloway (Waco), Cheyenne Dalrymple (Stockton, Calif.), Molly Holbrook (Lincoln), Brittany Harward (Orem, Utah), and
Chelsea Reznicek (Omaha). Dalrymple and Holbrook's hits were home runs with Dalrymple's being a two-run shot and Holbrook's a solo effort.
Lauren Johnson (Seward) was on the mound and took the loss. Johnson gave up ten hits, six earned runs, and struck out one.
CSM GM 1 BOX SCORE Game Two Statistics Peru State scored first by having a run in the top of the first. CSM would score a run in the third and then in the fourth to take a 2-1 lead. Neither team would score in the fifth and sixth. In the top of the seventh, the Bobcats scored three runs to go up 4-2. CSM would add a run in the bottom of the inning, but the 'Cats held on for the 4-3 win and get the split.
Peru State scored their four runs on eight hits and had three miscues. The Flames scored their three runs, also on eight hits, and had two errors.
Toni Blackwell (Papillion), Holbrook, and
Chelsea Reznicek each had two hits in the win.
Brittany McNeese (Gretna) was credited with two RBI.
Nicole Reznicek earned her fifth win of the season by
winning the second gameNicole Reznicek (Omaha) earned the win – her fifth of the season against seven losses. Reznicek allowed eight hits, three earned runs, and struck out four.
CSM GM 2 BOX SCORE Upcoming Games The Bobcats have a pair of Heart of America Athletic Conference games this weekend. On Saturday, Peru State travels to Olathe, Kan., to face MidAmerica Nazarene University. The double header with the Pioneers is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Currently, MidAmerica Nazarene is 17-22 overall and 5-5 in the Heart.
On Sunday, April 19, the 'Cats will be hosting Benedictine College in a double header beginning at 2 p.m. Presently, the Ravens are 20-11 overall and 7-3 in conference action.
