(Peru, Neb.) – Saturday was Senior and Parents Day for the Bobcat softball team and the outcome was what everyone was hoping for at the end of the day. How Peru State got the two wins could not have come in a more different fashion.
In the first game against Avila University, the 'Cats blasted the Eagles 12-0 with the game ending in five innings. In the second game, the Bobcats had to rally in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings. Eventually, Peru State would win 8-7 in ten innings.
With the two wins, the Bobcats improved to 26-19 overall and 5-7 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC). The Eagles fell to 10-29 overall and 4-12 in the HAAC.

The Bobcats scored their eight runs on 16 hits and had one error. Avila scored their seven runs on 12 hits and committed four errors.
Bohlmeyer, Tracy, and Blackwell each had three hits in the game to lead Peru State. O'Gorman and Holloway each had two hits. Tracy led the team with four RBI.
Devon Massengale (Elkhorn, Nebr.) pitched the entire ten innings for her tenth win on her Senior Day. Massengale allowed 12 hits, seven runs – five earned, and struck out three for the victory.

Peru State has six HAAC games remaining this week and it could be the final games of the regular season if they do not reschedule their postponed double header with Haskell Indian Nations University.
On Wednesday, Peru State will travel to Marshall, Mo., to take on the Missouri Valley College Vikings in a double header beginning at 2 p.m. The Vikings won their first conference game yesterday over Baker, so are now 1-13 in the conference and 3-23 overall.
What could be the final home games of the season are scheduled for next Saturday, April 26, when the Bobcats host MidAmerica Nazarene University in a double header scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Presently, the Pioneers are 18-10 overall and 11-3 in conference play, currently good for second place.
Then, on Sunday, Peru State will travel to Atchison, Kan., to play a make-up double header with Benedictine College. At this time, Benedictine is 14-17 overall and 7-5 in the HAAC. Game time for the twin bill is scheduled for 1 p.m.
