Perhaps it was the 16-day layoff while the opponent had played three days earlier or it could have been the cool shooting night for the Bobcats. Whatever the reason, the Avila University Eagles defeated the Peru State women on Thursday 69-65 in overtime.
With the loss, the Bobcats fell to 2-9 overall and now are 1-2 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC). With the win, Avila is now 3-8 overall and also are 1-2 in the HAAC.

Another assist by Tate to Hess made it 51-48. The next time down the court for Peru State, Madrid was fouled and she connected on one of two free throws giving the 'Cats their largest lead of the game at that point at 52-48 with 5:20 left.
