Maresh followed with a single down the right field line to drive in Bodyk to put the Bobcats back on top at 4-3. Moser singled up the middle with Maresh advancing to second.

Devon Massengale (Elkhorn), the pitcher, stepped to the plate and helped her own cause with a bases-clearing double to give the 'Cats a 7-3 advantage. Sam Walker
(Peyton, Colo.) hit a sacrifice fly to deep right-center that was long enough for Massengale to score from second after the catch as she dove into home plate, making it 8-3 Peru State.
The Bobcats would eventually win by the eight-run rule in the bottom of the sixth. Blackwell was hit by a pitch and went to second when
Traci Bohlmeyer (Fairbury) reached on a Viking error. Bodyk singled up the middle to drive in Blackwell with Bohlmeyer stopping at second. That brought up Maresh who doubled to deep right, driving in two more runs to give Peru State the 11-3 win in six innings.
The 'Cats scored their 11 runs on 12 hits and committed one error. Missouri valley scored their three runs on nine hits and committed two errors.
Bodyk, Maresh, and Moser each had three hits with Maresh getting four RBI, Bodyk adding two, and Moser having one. Blackwell added two hits.
Massengale won her sixth game of the year throwing a complete game. Massengale scattered nine hits, gave up three earned runs, and struck out four.

Second Game Action
The second inning was a long one in the second game as the two teams scored ten runs. The Vikings started the inning taking a 3-0 lead. However, the 'Cats responded in a big way.
Moser singled to third and went to second when Massengale singled to left-center. Walker singled to shallow right-center, driving in Moser with Massengale going to second. Both Massengale and Walker advanced on a Viking error.
Casee Ford (Fort Collins, Colo.) singled up the middle to score Massengale, making it 3-2. Walker would score on the play by another Missouri Valley error to tie the game at 3-3.
Tesla Oldfield (Nebraska City) bunted and reached first on the fielder's choice with Ford moving to second. After the first out of the inning, Bohlmeyer was hit by a pitch to load the bases. After the second out of the inning, Maresh hit a grand slam over the center field fence on a 1-1 count to put Peru State up 7-3.
Neither team would score in the third or fourth. The Vikings would get their final run in the top of the fifth as they cut it to 7-4.
In the bottom of the fifth, after the first out, Moser singled to shallow right-center. After the second out, Walker doubled to deep left-center to drive in Moser. Ford was then hit by a pitch.
Miranda Lyndes (Peyton, Colo.), in a pinch-hitting role, produced a three-run home run on a 2-2 count over the center field fence, to make it 11-4 after five innings.

Holly Kurz (Elkhorn), pinch-hitting for Moser, reached on a walk and Bodyk advanced to second. Moffatt, pinch-hitting for Massengale, was also hit by a pitch, which loaded the bases.
Sara Adams (Mead), pinch-hitting for Walker, hit a sacrifice fly to deep center, driving in Bodyk for the 12-4 win in six innings.
Bodyk, Moser, Walker, and Ford each had two hits with Walker being credited for two RBI. Maresh and Lyndes, with their respective home runs, were credited with four RBI and three RBI respectively.
Lauren Johnson (Seward) threw a complete game for her ninth win of the season. Johnson gave up seven hits, four earned runs, and struck out one in the win over Missouri Valley.

The Bobcats are playing Saturday in Olathe, Kan., against the MidAmerica Nazarene University Pioneers with the double header scheduled to start at 2 p.m. The Pioneers are currently tied for second in the league with Baker University.
With a win, Peru State would assure itself of no worse than the fifth seed for the HAAC post-season tournament. The Bobcats could finish as high as the fourth seed or as low as the sixth seed.
The HAAC post-season tournament will be held May 3 and 4 at the Blue Valley Rec Complex and will be a double elimination format with the top eight seeds competing for one of the berths to the national tournament. The first-round games will begin at 1 p.m. with the second-round games starting at 3 p.m. There will be two elimination games at 5 p.m. on May 3 with the survivors playing for the title on May 4.
