Bodyk followed with a single, which scored Moffatt and Choate and Bodyk each advanced on another York error.
singled to left allowing Choate to score and Bodyk going to third. Bodyk came home on another Panther miscue and Maresh went to second. Hoock, after starting the inning off with a single, blasted a home run over the left field fence on a 1-1 count to bring in the final two runs of the inning. In the inning, PSC had scored eight runs on seven hits, while York committed two errors.
The Bobcats extended their lead with another run in the bottom of the fifth. Following the first out of the inning, Blackwell singled up the middle and went to second on a stolen base. Ford put down a perfect bunt to reach on a base hit and Blackwell went to third with Ford going to second on the play. Moffatt singled to left center and Blackwell scored making it 10-7 PSC at that point.
York did add one run in the top of the seventh to cut it to 10-8, the final score.
The Panthers actually outhit the Bobcats 14-12. In the game the Panthers committed three errors, while the 'Cats had two errors.
Blackwell, Choate, and Hoock each had two hits in the game. Choate, Bodyk, and Hoock each had two RBI.
Massengale pitched the first four innings and was credited with the win and is 5-2 on the season. Massengale gave up nine hits, seven runs – five earned, and struck out six.
Lyndsay Drumm (Bennington) pitched the final three innings and earned a save. Drumm gave up five hits, one earned run and struck out three.

Game Two Action
The Panthers and Bobcat pitchers all pitched very well in the second game. Peru State only had an opportunity in the bottom of the first and fifth innings, but York shut them out, before scratching out two runs in the bottom of the sixth. York's only real scoring opportunity came in the top of the fifth, but the 'Cats snuffed it.
In the bottom of the sixth, Choate singled thru the hole at shortstop and went to second on a sacrifice bunt by Bodyk. Maresh singled to right center and Choate went to third. Following the second out of the inning,
Alexa Johnson (Fremont) reached base with a walk, which loaded the bases.
Abbie Moser (Lincoln) came in to run for Maresh at that point.
Miranda Lyndes (Peyton, Colo.) singled up the middle driving in Choate and Moser that proved to be the only runs the Bobcats would score.
Peru State scored their two runs on seven hits and committed two errors.
Blackwell, Maresh, and Lyndes each had two hits, but it was Lyndes' single in the sixth giving her two RBI.
Lauren Johnson (Seward) and Disney combined to hold the Panthers to just three hits. Johnson pitched five innings giving up just three hits and struck out two. Disney gained the win, as she allowed no hits in her two innings while striking out one batter. With the win, Disney improves to a perfect 4-0 for the year.

Upcoming Games
The Bobcats travelled to Parkville, Mo., on Sunday, March 25, to take on the Park University Pirates in non-conference action.
Eight straight home games are scheduled in the next ten days, as the Bobcats will be at home on Wednesday, March 28; Saturday, March 31; Sunday, April 1; and Wednesday, April 4.
On March 28, PSC will begin their Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) play when they host the MidAmerica Nazarene University Pioneers. On the 31st, the Evangel University Crusaders will visit in HAAC play. Another conference match-up will take place on April Fool's Day when Central Methodist University will be in Peru. On the fourth, the Bobcats will host former conference opponent, St. Mary of Omaha. All games are double headers. The HAAC games will begin at 2 p.m. while the St. Mary game starts at 3 p.m.
