Mansch to serve as Career-Athletes Intern

(Peru, Neb.) - Career Athletes of Olathe, Kan., has announced the fourth and largest class of on-campus interns for the spring 2012 semester.  Representing Peru State College (PSC) this spring is Lincoln Mansch, a junior baseball player from Missoula, Mont.

Starting Feb. 1, more than 140 interns began a three-month program for individuals looking to gain professional experience in a campus setting.   Supervised by Kim Pence, Director of Student-Athlete Development and Internships at Career Athletes, the goal of the internship is to help grow and increase activity in the Career Athletes networks of each individual intern.

"Our spring 2012 interns have a great opportunity to educate their peers on campus while growing their own professional network," said Pence.  "We have a great group of interns that reach coast to coast as well as throughout NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA institutions."

Throughout the semester, interns will gain experience in selecting assignments relating to professional presentations, social media strategies, e-mail campaigning, and marketing.  In addition, all interns will learn the importance and value of creating a professional network with other athletes and potential employers.

"Interns will have the opportunity to become part of our Career Athletes Resume Book and have the potential to earn an interview with an employer," said Pence.  "These interns can gain experiences that can truly launch them into their next internship and full-time careers. I look forward to all of their great achievements this semester!"

Mansch was excited about the opportunity to serve in this capacity in working with the PSC athletic department, its coaches, and his fellow student-athletes.  Mansch said, “Career Athletes is a good way for student-athletes to develop their career after college. They provide the tools and resources necessary for us to make connections to better our careers.”  Continuing Mansch said, “During the internship I will be looking to make connections with not only Peru State alumni and current student athletes, but also people outside the PSC community who are willing to help prepare me for what comes after college.”

Peru State AD Steve Schneider added, “We are pleased Lincoln agreed to do the internship.  Career Athletes is growing and it is a great career resource for our current and former Bobcats.  Lincoln will also be working with Keiyana Arnold, currently an admissions representative, as Keiyana has agreed to help Lincoln develop the alumni relations aspect of Career Athletes.”
