Peru State College Athletics

The Peru State athletic department recently announced that Kile Bentley (Cairo) of the football team and Lydia Lang (Palmyra) of the women’s cross country team have been named October Bobcat Athletes of the Month.
 
Bentley earned Heart Defensive Player of the Week after the 27-25 win against William Penn. Bentley had a touchdown off a muffed punt and recorded a safety in the win. He also had ten tackles on the day three of which were solo, a tackle for loss and a sack.
 
For the month of October, he played in three games and had 19 tackles, five of which were solo, good for 6.3 tackles per game, two tackles for loss, one fumble recovery and a touchdown.
 
Lang was the leader for Peru State in all three cross country meets in October. Below are her places and times in all three meets.
 
Briar Cliff Invite 58^th place finish with a total time of 21:56.66.
 
Platte River Rumble 103^rd place finish with a total time of 26:36.6. (6K and competing against NCAA schools).
 
Lancer Invitational 112^th place finish with a total time of 22:53.21.
 
Peru State football is on the road Saturday, November 5, at Graceland. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. The women’s cross country team is competing at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, November 5, hosted by Grand View University.
