After leading their respective teams throughout their respective seasons, Tyler Farrell (Brandon, Fla.) and Adam Cendejas (Chino Hills, Calif.) were named by Peru State athletic director Wayne Albury as Peru State’s Athletes of the Month for May.
Both Farrell and Cendejas earned Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) All-Conference recognition at the conclusion of the season.
Farrell, a junior first baseman, was the Bobcats’ only representative on the Heart list as she gained honorable mention honors. She was Peru State’s top hitter for 2019 as she finished with a batting average of .361 and added 30 RBI’s during the season.
Nationally, Farrell finished in four different Top 50 individual categories: 28th in putouts per game (6.804), 29th in chances per game (7.174), 32nd in total putouts (313) and 37th in total chances (330).
Athletic director Albury noted, “Tyler and Adam both had key roles in the success of their respective teams for the entire season.” Concluding, he added, “They are top choices for May’s Bobcat Athletes of the Month.”
