While at Grambling, Epps Jr., was a student coach and a men’s basketball student manager for GSU. His duties included making sure players were on time for preparation. Determine whether all players have water bottles and have sought any basic treatment prior to training. Help with the scoreboard and practice video.
Assist with the distribution of uniforms for practice and games. Assist in ensuring that food is safely stored and cleaned up after consumption. On game days, including travel, get a head count for the coaches to confirm that all the players are on the bus.
Assist with player workouts when coaches are working with them, as well as assisting players with getting shots up on their own.
Always arrive an hour early for preparation or games to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Help with the scorebook, handing out timeout chairs, and putting names on game seats during the Covid season. Assist with team bags and luggage to and from trips. Assist coaches and graduate assistants with their day-to-day needs. I also managed the team's Twitter and Snapchat accounts from time to time.
