Softball Splits with Missouri Valley in Final Series of the Season

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Softball Team split with the Missouri Valley Vikings on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats concluded their season 5-19 in the Heart of America Conference and 10-34 overall.
 
Game 1 (Peru State 14 – Missouri Valley 4)
 
The Bobcats started strong with Reagan Wiehe and Jami Mans each hitting a single to score Ellie Ohlde and Kloey Hamblen. Jordan Tracy and then a 3-run homerun, scoring Wiehe and Mans in the first inning. In the second inning, Wiehe hit another single to score Hamblen followed by Man's hitting a 2-run home run, scoring Wiehe. The Bobcats didn't let up in the third inning with Ellie Ohlde hitting a triple that scored Leann Hawkins and Eva Schultz. Kloey Hamblen hit a single to score Ohlde followed by a double by Reagan Wiehe scoring Kloey Hamblen. In the fourth inning, Zoey Crump scored followed by a single by Ellie Ohlde scoring Dieckmann.
 
Sage Issacs started pitching for the Bobcats, allowing only one hit.
 
Game 2 (Peru State 4 – Missouri Valley 12)
 
The Bobcats had a slow start in game two. Kloey Hamblen batted in the first run for the Bobcats in the third inning. In the fourth, Maci Green hit a home run followed by Ellie Ohlde hitting a double to score Leann Hawkins and Kylee Dieckmann.
 
Emily Vannatta started pitching for the Bobcats, having one strikeout and allowing only three hits.
