(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Softball Team was defeated by the Hastings Broncos with a final score of 9-1 on Tuesday afternoon. The Bobcats are now 3-13 overall.

Game 1 (Peru State 1 – Hastings 9)

The Bobcats scored their first run during the game, thanks to a run by
Leann Hawkins after she was batted in by a double from
Kloey Hamblen.
Eva Schultz and
Leann Hawkins also each had a hit against the Broncos. Â

Starting pitcher
Sage Issacs, took the mound for the Bobcats allowing only three hits. Sydney Chubbuck pitched for four innings, having two strikeouts against the Bobcats.

Game 2 (Peru State 0 – Hastings 5)

The Bobcats had a strong start to the second game, holding off the Broncos until the sixth inning. The Bobcats had four hits with
Kloey Hamblen,
Jami Mans,
Maci Green and
Jordan Tracy each having one.

The Bobcats' starting pitcher,
Emily Vannatta, fought valiantly to keep the team competitive throughout the game. Vannatta had two strikeouts against the Broncos and only allowed eight hits.
