Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Falls Short at Graceland

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Men's Basketball team fell 82-71 against the Graceland Yellowjackets on Wednesday night. The Bobcats, with a strong effort from Stephen Coleman who led the scoring with 22 points along with 6 rebounds, couldn't overcome Graceland's strong performance throughout the game.

The first half saw Graceland take an early lead, maintaining it with a 41-34 score by halftime. The Bobcats displayed moments of brilliance, such as Ty Griggs' 9-point run solely from 3-pointers and Stephen Coleman's critical layups, which closed significant gaps during the game. Despite being down by as much as 21 points in the second half, Peru State managed to narrow the lead, highlighted by Coleman's key plays toward the game's close, eventually bringing the Bobcats within 6 points of Graceland.

Chris Peoples also turned in a notable performance for the Bobcats with 10 points, leading the assists and steals for the Bobcats with 5 and 4 respectively. Another commendable contribution came from Devin Tomlinson who added 13 points, his crucial three-pointer in the second half, cutting down the deficit significantly. Despite the loss, the defensive efforts of Carlos Hines, who blocked multiple shots, paired with his 9 points, showed resilience and fight within the team.

Next: The Bobcats will be back in the AWAC on Saturday, February 22nd. The Bobcats will recognize their seniors immediately following their game at 2:00pm.
