Baseball Goes 4-0 in Arkansas

(Rogers, Ark.)- The Peru State Baseball Team went 4-0 in Rogers, Arkansas on Friday and Saturday. They defeated the Central Christian Tigers and Dordt Defenders in two games each. The Bobcats are now 5-3 overall.
 
Game 1 (Peru State 5 - Central Christian 0)
 
Led by the starting pitcher Kevin Diaz, who delivered a stunning performance with 10 strikeouts and a complete game shutout, Peru State showcased strategic and disciplined play throughout the event. Antonio Benitez, Airam Betancourt, Xavier Solla, and Kutty George powered the Bobcats' offense, all contributing crucial runs to secure the win. Benitez was particularly notable, driving in two runs, alongside contributions from Solla and Gustavo Rivera. A key moment that defined the game came in the fourth inning when Peru State capitalized on their opponent's mistakes by scoring four runs, utilizing a mix of singles, walks, errors, and wild pitches.
 
Game 2 (Peru State 6 – Dordt 5)
 
Leading the charge for Peru State was Gustavo Rivera who not only scored three runs but also drove one in, including a double among his hits. Antonio Benitez and Tyson Fancher followed closely, each scoring two runs. Fancher, alongside Diego Rivera, also contributed importantly with two RBIs each, strengthening the team's position. Other notable performances included Garrett Pavletich and Airam Betancourt, each having pivotal roles in the game's outcome. The game's momentum significantly shifted in favor of the Bobcats during the fourth inning, where they tallied five runs to widen their lead substantially. Starting pitcher Dylan Pavletich provided a solid start, while Jamier Gonzalez had key contributions on the mound despite facing some challenges.
 
Game 3 (Peru State 9 – Dordt 3)
 
The game featured a standout performance from Peru State's offense, particularly in the sixth inning where they scored four crucial runs to seize the lead. Highlighting the game were notable performances from Kutty George, who notched a key double and an RBI. Together with contributions from Gustavo Rivera, Garrett Pavletich, Diego Rivera, Blake Denson, and Xavier Solla, Peru State's lineup demonstrated both depth and clutch hitting when it counted most.

Starting pitcher Casey Ogden took the mound for Peru State and played a pivotal role in keeping the game within reach before the offensive surge. The defensive efforts were solid throughout the game, keeping the potent Dordt team at bay.
 
Game 4 (Peru State 10 - Central Christian 4)
 
The Bobcats' success was spearheaded by notable performances from several team members. Antonio Benitez led the scoring by securing 3 runs, followed by Gustavo Rivera, who not only scored 2 runs but also added 3 RBIs and a home run to his impressive stats for the game. Additionally, Garrett Pavletich, Tyson Fancher, and Doel Pina contributed significantly by scoring and driving in runs. The teamwork was evident as C. Belcher also chipped in with an important RBI.
 
Gustavo Rivera was particularly instrumental, managing a holistic game by hitting a home run, driving in multiple runs, and playing a crucial role on defense by catching an opponent stealing. Joining Rivera in the home run column was Tyson Fancher, who also knocked in 2 RBIs. Starting pitcher Blake Denson provided stability from the mound, setting the tone for the team's defense against the Defenders.
