(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State men's basketball team earned an 85–79 Heart of America Athletic Conference victory over Culver-Stockton on Saturday afternoon inside the AWAC, improving to 7–7 overall and 3–4 in conference play.
Peru State shot an efficient 55.2 percent from the field and knocked down 11 three-pointers to build momentum throughout the contest. The Bobcats led 44–38 at the half and maintained control despite a late push from the Wildcats.
Victor Lado led Peru State with 21 points and nine rebounds, scoring 15 of his points in the second half while also going 7-of-10 from the free-throw line. Christian Tidiane added 14 points, while Caleb Iheukwu provided a strong spark off the bench with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including three triples. Denim Johnson chipped in 12 points and a team-high seven assists, and Everett Stubblefield knocked down three first-half threes on his way to 11 points.
The Bobcats received balanced scoring across the lineup, finishing with 38 bench points and outscoring Culver-Stockton 38–36 in the paint. Peru State also recorded six blocks and forced key stops down the stretch to secure the win.
