(Peru, Neb)- The Peru State football team delivered a commanding Homecoming performance on Saturday afternoon at the Oak Bowl, defeating Clarke (Iowa) 54–0.

Quarterback CJ Dixon led the way, completing 15-of-27 passes for 302 yards and four touchdowns while adding another score on the ground. Dixon connected with Bryant Thomas for a 57-yard touchdown late in the first quarter, then followed up with scoring strikes to Chaz Sturn, Amahd Bacon, and Daylan Jones as the Bobcats' offense piled up 525 total yards.

Peru State jumped out to a 14–0 lead in the opening quarter thanks to Dixon's six-yard rushing score and the long connection to Thomas. Parker Cushing extended the advantage with a 24-yard field goal in the second quarter before Dixon hit Sturn on a 23-yard touchdown to make it 24–0 at halftime.

The Bobcats didn't slow down after the break. Bacon hauled in a short touchdown from Dixon, and the defense added two scores of its own — first with a safety, then a 75-yard interception return from Quentin Morris early in the fourth quarter. Gianni Dorsey capped the day with a 31-yard rushing touchdown to seal the blowout.

Defensively, Peru State was relentless, holding Clarke to just 251 yards on 84 plays and forcing four turnovers. Morris recorded two interceptions, including the pick-six, while Alonzo Jackson added another interception and Duke McClinton forced a fumble recovered by Ja-Quez Oliver. The Bobcats also registered two sacks and seven tackles for loss, led by Zahir Washington's two sacks for 20 yards.

Cushing was perfect on the day, connecting on all seven PATs and his lone field goal attempt.
