(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Women's Basketball team fell to the Missouri Valley Vikings in a conference matchup on Saturday, February 10
th, 65-79. The Bobcats are now 7-13 in the Heart of America Conference and 10-14 overall.
The Bobcats came out slow in the first half, letting the Vikings take a quick lead.
Hailey Ingram led the Bobcats in points after the first two quarters. Ingram had 11 points in the second quarter to help the Bobcats keep the Vikings lead down to 13. The Bobcats also had 17 rebounds in the first half. The team was down 28-41 going into halftime.
Coming out of halftime, the Bobcats had back-to-back layups by
Olivia Williams and
Kaylan Larry. The Bobcats continued to try and close the gap, but they couldn't find a way to stop the Vikings offense. Throughout the second half,
Samantha Stewart and
Natasha Deal tallied eight points for the Bobcats. The Bobcats fell to the Vikings 65-79.
Hailey Ingram led the team's stats vs the Vikings with 20 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals. Samamtha Stewart had 12 points with five rebounds and two steals.
Olivia Williams tallied 10 points, six assists and six rebounds with
Natasha Deal also having 10 points and two rebounds.
Kaylan Larry also had eight points with three rebounds and three steals against the Vikings.
