(Kansas City, MO)- The Peru State Baseball Team split with the Hastings Mustangs Friday, February 9
th in Kansas City. The Bobcats are now 1-4 overall.

The Bobcats took a tough loss in the first game of the day 4-6. The team bounced back to take the win 4-2 in the second game.

The Bobcats struggled in the first few innings as the Mustangs scored five runs.

Antonio Benitez with a double to left field in the fifth inning sent
Ivan Medina to score the first run for the Bobcats. A single by
Garrett Pavletich sent booth

Gustavo Rivera to score in the 6

Kevin Diaz pitched three complete innings and allowed five runs on five hits but had three strikeouts.
Diego Oquendo also pitched three complete innings and had six strikeouts, only allowing three hits.

The Bobcats bounced back nicely in game two behind pitcher,
Casey Ogden. Ogden pitched six complete innings, only gave up five hits and struck out nine batters.

A fly out to right field scored the first run for the Bobcats as
Antonio Benitez made it home. In the fifth, an error by the Mustangs helped
Angel Andrades to score for the Bobcats. A single by
Dylan Pavletich helped Benitez and
Xavier Solla to score the final runs for the Bobcats.
