(Baldwin City, Kan.)- The Peru State Men's Basketball Team fell to ranked Baker on Tuesday night, 64-87. The Bobcats are now 3-2 in the Heart of America Conference and 7-2 overall.
The Peru State Bobcats started strong but struggled to keep their momentum.
Christian Tidiane led the Bobcats in the first half with 7 points and 5 rebounds, while
Devin Tomlinson added 5 points and 5 rebounds, and
Amir Poat grabbed 6 boards. Despite their efforts, Peru State trailed 26-36 at halftime.
In the second half, the Bobcats couldn't close the gap.
Carlos Hines and
Ty Griggs each scored 7 points, and
Donzell Johnson added 6, but it wasn't enough to stop the Wildcats. Baker extended their lead, and Peru State was unable to recover, ultimately falling 64-87.
Devin Tomlinson had eight points, six rebounds and two assists for the Bobcats.
Carlos Hines added 12 points and two assists with
Ty Griggs having nine points and one rebound.
Donzell Johnson had nine points, and one rebound against the Wildcats with
Christian Tidiane having seven points and six rebounds. Amir Poad added seven rebounds and two points.
Next: The Bobcats will be back in Kansas for exhibition matches this weekend. They play at Washburn on Saturday at 2:00 pm and then at Emporia State on Sunday at 2:00pm.
