(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Women's Basketball Team fell to the Haskell Indians on Saturday night, 68-98. The Bobcats are now 2-2 overall.
The game started with energy as the Bobcats came out strong in the first quarter.
Kylie Diaz led the charge, contributing nine points and six rebounds in the opening quarter.
Natasha Deal also made an impact, adding seven points and three rebounds. Despite their strong start, the Bobcats found themselves trailing by one, 23-22, heading into the second quarter. Haskell's stopped the bobcats finding themselves in a 34-51 deficit.
The third quarter saw
Xytlaly Reyes step up for the Bobcats, scoring eight points, but the team continued to struggle with turnovers and finding offensive rhythm. Diaz, who had been a key contributor in the first quarter, added just four points in the third, and the Bobcats trailed entering the final period. Despite a strong push from
Tiara Dodd, who scored six points in the fourth quarter, Peru State was unable to close the gap, and the Bobcats ultimately fell 98-68.
Kylie Diaz had 18 points, nine rebounds and one block and steal for the Bobcats.
Xytlaly Reyes added 16 points and two rebounds.
Natasha Deal had 11 points, nine rebounds and two assists against Haskell.
Hailey Ingram had nine points, four rebounds and two steals with
Tiara Dodd having eight points and four rebounds.
