Men's Basketball Defeats Benedictine on Wednesday Evening

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Men's Basketball Team beat the Benedictine Ravens on Wednesday evening, 73-57. The Bobcats are now 6-7 in the Heart of America conference and 10-7 overall.    

In the first half against the Ravens, the Bobcats took a quick lead, going 6-0 to start the game. The Bobcats had 21 rebounds in their first half, stopping the Ravens offense. Sayvon Traylor, Ty Griggs and Carlos Hines each scored eight points for the Bobcats in the first half helping them to have the 39-27 lead at halftime.  

The Bobcats continued to extend their lead and held back the Ravens in the second half. David Wingett Jr. Scored 10 points for the Bobcats in the second as they continued to hold off the Ravens with Ty Griggs adding 5 rebounds during the matchup. The Bobcats ran away with it at the end as they ended the game 73-57. 

Statistically, David Wingett Jr. Led the team with 15 points and six rebounds. Ty Griggs had 14 points and six rebounds with Sayvon Traylor being close behind with 14 points, four rebounds and two steals for the Bobcats. Christian Tidiane had 12 points and added seven rebounds. Carlos Hines had eight points and three rebounds with Amir Poat adding six points, six rebounds and two blocks against the Ravens.
